What in the world is this?
A short while ago, in the midst of doing very deep shadow work, I received a dream. (Shocker, I know.)
The dream pointed out something really surprising (another shocker).
But rather than speaking to the shadow work, it told me... to lighten up.

See, shadow work is my bread and butter. I delve deep, all the time.
And I thought that the deeper you go, the more authentic you become, and the more aligned your life becomes.

And there's truth to that, but with a caveat:
Shadow work has to happen in service to something.
You would think that's obvious, but this link needs to be made conscious, or else you end up in shadow work spirals that go nowhere (ask me how I know).

This dream turned my approach to shadow work on its head...
which is why I created this workshop/soul party.

Because the point isn't to spend our whole lives digging.
The point is to become more available for LIFE.

And what that means is a life where feeling joy and expansion feels safe.
This is where most of us run into trouble.

The problem with joy... no, seriously.
We talk a lot about how trauma wires us to look around for pain and to even expect pain to come.
And what's often left out of the conversation is the fact that
we are therefore wired to doubt and even avoid joy.
So we're used to working on ourselves when something hurts.
We're much less practiced at welcoming expansion and good feelings.
Sometimes we can allow ourselves a little joy. A little success. A little abundance.
And then...
We pull back.
We second-guess it.
We wait for the other shoe to drop.
We find something else to fix.
Because here's the thing:
It's not just pain that can activate our nervous system.
Expansion can, too.
And it happens far more often than you realize.
(it might have happened while you were reading this page!)
Being seen.
Using your voice.
Receiving.
Having more than enough.
Letting ourselves be wildly, unapologetically happy.
Sometimes feeling good is the thing that feels unsafe.
So we go back to what we know.
We analyze.
We process.
We heal.
We find the next thing to work on.
A releasing ritual, anybody?
Meanwhile, the life we've been doing all this work to create is standing right there saying,
“Um... so are you coming?"

So, I'm throwing a Soul Party

Because apparently, when you have a profound realization about the shadow side of joy, the appropriate response is to throw a party. 😂
Warning: May Cause Happiness is a 2-hour exploration of what happens when we stop treating joy as something we earn after we've done enough healing...
…and start practicing actually letting it in.
We'll explore the shadow side of joy, play with ways to make expansion feel safer, and experiment with what it feels like to let ourselves experience more of the good stuff.
And yes.
There will be dancing.

The Totally Serious Soul Party Plan

🎉 Our Soul Wants JOY
We'll begin by exploring a radical possibility: joy isn't a reward for doing enough healing. It is actually part of why we're here. We'll talk about the nervous system and where the wires have gotten crossed, where you developed an upper limit on joy.
🪩 Meditation, But Make It a Party
You will go through a guided meditation to get out of your head, into your body, and into the experience of actually feeling good. Then we'll see what arises, which is almost inevitably...
👀 The Shadow Side of Joy
Because of course there is one. 😂 We'll explore the sneaky ways we can protect ourselves from the very things we've been asking for.
🌱 Anchoring Joy
This is where you get to play with actual, simple-yet-annoyingly-effective practices for helping your nervous system become more comfortable with joy, expansion, receiving, and the unfamiliar territory of “Holy shit, things are actually going well.”
💃 The Soul Party
And then?
We dance.
Because sometimes the most profound spiritual practice is to stop talking about it and let yourself have some fun.
(Weirdly, we actually need to practice joy to really anchor it in a conscious way. Cue music!)

This might be your kind of Soul Party if...

-
You have done a bunch of inner work and are starting to wonder if life is just one big shadow work project, or if we can let loose and play.
-
You can handle a crisis but somehow don't know what to do when things are going really, really well.
-
You want more joy, abundance, pleasure, creativity, or expansion — but some part of you immediately starts looking for the catch.
-
You're tired of treating yourself like a perpetual renovation project. 😂
-
You want to know what it's like to heal with levity and humor without negating the real feelings.

Okay, When Is This Shindig?

Thursday, October 15, 2026
4 – 6pm MT
6 – 8pm ET
Live on Zoom
A recording will be available if you can't make it live.
(But really, it won't be a party without you!)
Bring a journal or notebook, pens, thick and thin black markers, and whatever you like to drink or snack on.
And please give yourself the gift of two uninterrupted hours. This is not the time to fold laundry while you're soul-partying. 😂

Put your money where your joy is. 😉
This is a pay-what-you-wish Soul Party!
I'm inviting you to invest what feels good to you.
$22 is the minimum. Beyond that, there's no ceiling.
If this experience lights you up, go ahead and make my day. 😂
Your contribution is an exchange of energy –
one that says, “Yes. I want more of this in the world.”

So... what feels good?

Your Soul called. It’s ready to party.

* Side effects may include dancing, spontaneous laughter, and an increased tolerance for an expansive life.
